Under the Shadow of the Cross
Under the shadow of the cross highlights the meaning of Christ’s crucifixion as the clearest revelation of both the seriousness of sin and the greatness of God’s love. The sermon shows that at Calvary, Jesus took humanity’s guilt upon Himself so that pardon, grace, and redemption could be offered to all who believe. Through scriptures such as Isaiah 53:5, Romans 5:8, Luke 23:34, and John 12:32, the message emphasizes that the cross is where justice and mercy meet.
The sermon also calls for a personal response. Because Christ died to save us, we are invited to repent, trust in His grace, surrender our lives fully to Him, and walk in loving obedience. Living “under the shadow of the cross” means not only accepting Christ’s forgiveness, but allowing His sacrifice to transform the way we live as we prepare for His soon return.
